Hi,
I just wanted to let you all know, that i have forked the old MakeHuman 0.9.1 RC1 .
The goal is to modernize the code and preserve it.

Edit:
The code is a heavy work in progress, but should work on Linux and Windows.
I plan to make a proper release once the initial work is done.

what do you intend to do with it, how will it be different then the original MH?

I think most people who want the old version would be after the non-human deforms, such as monster features, strange ears and so forth.

These were never ported when MH got its current base mesh, as the focus was to get human-oriented biologically believable fetures in place. To get monster deforms now, you'll have to download those targets which are available from the asset repo.

For now its mostly a software engineering exercise.
The vague plan is high quality real time rendering and VR support.
The only user visible feature it currently has is proper file dialogs.

If you don't mind trying a half finished test build.
It should do nothing bad but i would suggest running it in a vm to be sure.

you know whats a great software exercise? contributing to the current version of MH.
youre free to do that if you want of course, but if you have the skills, me and the rest of the comuity would appreciate it more if you helped out with the current version.

Forking the old c++ version is deliberate.
The reasons for that decision have not changed.
