Possible virus or trojan detected in nightly build.

Postby Finedaible » Sat May 05, 2012 1:55 am

Thought I'd report that Norton 360 reports a "WS.Reputation.1" signature for the nightly build of Makehuman. However, It could mean nothing since the WS.Reputation.1 signature in Norton only means that it has a bad reputation rating. I cannot be sure though, so that is why I'm letting someone know. Does anyone have any knowledge on this subject? Could the nightly build be truly infected?

this is a known False Positive/Extortion bug in Norton

basically Symantec wants to be PAID to flag "unpopular" programs as being safe.

Personally i would go ahead and install ANYTHING ELSE and then do a full uninstall next time your subscription comes due.

There's an entry about it in the FAQ section.
http://www.makehuman.org/node/374

It's something that is beyond of our control.
