Creating Targets in Blender using default rig

Postby smonbrogg » Wed Feb 27, 2019 8:54 pm

Hello

I'm currently trying to create some custom targets.

I'm using the blender MakeTarget tools https://github.com/makehumancommunity/m ... maketarget

I want to "Load Human + Fit Tools" including the default mh skeleton. Or to add the skeleton to the mesh after loading. Is this possible?

Thanks,
Simon

In case you're wondering why:
I'm trying to create targets more efficiently. Moving some bones to get the right target shape before starting to sculpt on mesh level is much faster.
To create a shape key from a pose this little script works: https://gist.github.com/simonbroggi/5c8 ... 1737eb8578
The shape key can then be saved as a target with the MakeTarget scripts...

You can use these tools to load a skeleton https://github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman-utils on a human. Actually it should also be possible to use exported models. Use the "Set as base" option from MakeTarget. Perhaps the save targets plugin in MakeHuman 1.2 is of use, too.

Thanks for the answer!

I ended up using an exported model, but ran into a scaling problem. I solved it by adjusting the maketarget scripts to take MhxScale into account in.

I created a pull request for this since I think this is usefull for everyone:
https://github.com/makehumancommunity/makehuman/pull/42
It's pull request number 42 :-)

I'll have to check out the makehuman-utils repo. It's pretty wild how the makehuman code is spread out into different repos..
