Black squares in Unity import

Postby raggnic » Mon Mar 31, 2025 9:01 am

Hi
I've made my first avatar and exported in unity, there is some black marks with the default shader.
I manage to remove them using an unlit material, but is there another way?
thank you

This is most likely due to the normals. Typical workflow: pre-export to Blender (or other 3D editor) –> fix normals –> import to game engine.

Also, take a look at the GameEngine material. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssl9ZzKuzQs for background. While no silver bullet, it might cause slightly less trouble when exporting to Unity.
