Diner4K

Postby MargaretToigo » Thu Jun 13, 2019 4:29 am

I had been working on this scene on and off for several weeks and I just got around to making the rendered frames into a 4K video that I posted on YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQkKmfb5VDE

The video is 20 seconds long, but only 48 frames and it has no sound -- I have the processor to render 4K but I don't have a screen that supports it (does anybody?).
Nothing dramatic happens, the only animation is the heads and gazes following the camera as it pans the room.

Oooh, I have a 4k display!
I can definitely see the difference with 2160p vs 1080p. The most noticeable difference was in the outlines. They're anti-aliased (and bordered by jpeg artifacts) in the 1080p version, but crisp and crystal clear in the 4k version. It's rare that I find 4k video so this was pretty cool!

There really isn't very much 4K programming out there, so I figure what's the point of getting a 4K TV, other than the coolness 8-) factor?

Of course, I remember when folks were saying that kinda stuff about HD :D ...
